Gyroscope, Inc. is an award winning, museum planning, architecture and exhibition design company located in Oakland, CA. We have built a reputation as a highly imaginative firm, known for pushing the envelope of cutting edge learning environments. Our work on such projects as the California Science Center, the Bishop Museum, Chicago Children's Museum, Austin Children's Museum, Bay Area Discovery Museum, Renton History Museum and Exploration Place shows our high level of creativity and our ability to work closely with clients to develop smart solutions.
Gyroscope understands museums from the inside out. We have worked on staff as CEOs, exhibit researchers, writers, concept developers, designers, and project administrators for leading museums around the country-Boston's Museum of Science, Liberty Science Center, the Exploratorium, Science Museum of Minnesota, and the Bay Area Discovery Museum. Our Vice-President, Chuck Howarth, served for eight years as founding president of Liberty Science Center, taking that project from earliest vision through opening.
Gyroscope has extensive experience with all phases of museum development and visitor experience planning and exhibition design. Few, if any, other firms combine our range of services from site selection, architecture and master planning to exhibition design, development and implementation.
