Louise Mackie is an architectural designer and educator who, in addition to her role at Gyroscope, serves as an instructor for San Francisco LEAP Arts in Education program.
Louise Mackie trained as an architect in the UK, working in London on a range of projects from large scale public realm developments to single family homes. She has an interest in alternative modes of education; teaching art and architecture to children and university level students. Since 2011 Louise has designed and built 3 public installations as part of a design cooperative.
In 2013 Louise was the lead on Gyroscope’s "Imagine Oakland" installation for the East Bay Mini Maker Faire. "Imagine Oakland" was a series of 8-foot tall looms that invited visitors to weave in their own creations and ideas.
