Calpine Visitors Center
Middletown, CA

In 2011, Calpine Corporation hired Gyroscope to lead a major renovation of the exhibits at their Geysers Geothermal Visitor Center in Middletown, CA. The project will open at the end of July, 2012. Calpine is a major U.S. power company serving 20 U.S. states and Canada. Their operation at The Geysers is the largest geothermal power facility in the world, capable of generating up to 725 megawatts of renewable, green energy for the people of California. Gyroscope had full responsibility for planning, designing, fabricating and installing 1500 sf of new and updated exhibits. Our work includes interactive displays, multimedia, historical and contemporary artifacts, new furniture, graphics, and revisions to the Center’s website. Calpine was sufficiently pleased with our work that they increased our scope to include a second set of exhibits to be installed at their administrative building at The Geysers.

Opened: 2012
